Supplier Sportradar has announced that the Maine Gambling Control Unit (MGCU) has granted Sportradar’s US betting subsidiary, Sportradar Solutions, a temporary Sports Betting Supplier License for the state of Maine, which took effect from November 1.
Sportradar now holds 53 licenses across North America in both the US and Canada for a wide range of clients, using data and technology to help betting operators, media companies, teams, leagues and federations grow their business. Some of its clients include the NBA, NHL, MLB, as well as UEFA, FIFA and the Bundesliga.
Sports betting went live in the Pinetree State last Friday after the bill to allow sports betting was approved by Governor Janet Mills in May of 2022, becoming law in August of last year.
On the same day sports betting went live in Maine, last Friday, Caesars Entertainment announced the launch of its flagship sports wagering platform, Caesars Sportsbook, while Genius Sports was awarded a temporary gaming license too.
DraftKings announced a deal on November 1 to launch an online sportsbook in Maine through a deal with the Passamaquoddy Tribe.
This announcement comes after a busy news week for Sportradar. The company posted its third-quarter 2023 results last week, which showed a 12% revenue increase to $211.9m, with all segments showing growth.
Meanwhile on Tuesday, Caribbean CAGE selected Sportradar as its official technology and services provider.
