iGaming Ontario posts FY2024/25 GGR figure of CA$3.2bn

Figures posted by iGaming Ontario have highlighted that Canada’s only regulated province generated a GGR figure of CA$3.2bn (US$2.3bn) during the 2024/25 period – up 28.6% year-over-year.
Indeed, with Ontario’s online gaming market having been regulated in April 2022, the province’s full-year financials are calculated from April each year – with this past 12-month period proving to be the most lucrative yet.
Overall results
As evidenced, Ontario’s revenues from online gaming increased by a healthy 28.6% during the past year, primarily driven by a record quarterly revenue figure of CA$903m generated during Q4 2024/25. Further, this revenue figure also represents a quarterly rise of 8.9%.
Elsewhere, positive wagering figures saw the total wagers reported by iGaming Ontario for the year hit CA$82.7bn for the year – rising by 31% year-on-year. As is indicated by the high Q4 revenue figures, the year’s fourth quarter also saw the highest wagering figure of 2024/25. During the three-month period of January-March 2025, Ontarians wagered a total of CA$22.9bn, a marginal increase from the CA$22.7bn wagered during Q3.
Results by category
Casino was Ontario’s primary gaming sector for both wagers and revenue during 2024/25 – generating a GGR figure of CA$2.4bn from a total of CA$69.6bn in wagers. Trailing behind was betting which saw a GGR of CA$724m generated from CA$11.4bn in wagers – with P2P poker accounting for CA$1.7bn of the overall wagering figure – generating a GGR of $66m during the year.
It was increases across the board in Ontario during the year with casino wagers for casino, betting and P2P poker increasing year-over-year by 34%, 17% and 2%, respectively. Regarding revenue, casino and betting saw respective rises of 36% and 23% – with GGR generated by P2P poker remaining flat.
Commenting on this latest results, iGaming Ontario Chairwomen of the BOD, Heidi Reinhard, said, “These results show Ontario is home to a truly dynamic iGaming market with a strong roster of operators, and a world-class list of games available for players. With 49 operators offering 84 gaming sites, Ontario’s regulated market continues to grow by offering a safer environment for Ontarians to play.”
