Flutter appoints two new Board members

Christine M. McCarthy and Robert R. Bennett will join the Board from July 30.

Industry giant Flutter Entertainment has confirmed two additions to its Board of Directors (BoD) in Christine M. McCarthy and Robert R. Bennett, who will step into their respective roles from July 30.  

McCarthy, who has held multiple senior leadership roles during her career, joins from her most recent position as Strategic Advisor at The Walt Disney Company, where she was also former CFO. At present, she serves as a director at both The Procter & Gamble Company – where she is also Chair of the Audit Committee – and FM Global, where she is Chair of the Finance Committee.  

Now, McCarthy will be looking to utilize her experience within her new role at Flutter.  

Bennet’s current role is as a Managing Director of private investment organization, Hilltop Investments. He holds previous experience as a director of Warner Bros. Further, he will hope to use his C-Level experience as President and CEO of Liberty Media Corporation as he, alongside McCarthy, step into these high-level positions at Flutter Entertainment.  

Commenting on the appointments, John Bryant, Chair of the Flutter Board, said, “Christine and Dob’s extensive experience in the entertainment industry will be an invaluable asset to Flutter as we continue to extend our leading position as a global online sports betting and iGaming provider. We look forward to welcoming both Dob and Christine to the Board as non-executive directors and benefitting from their unique perspective and industry knowledge.” 

This latest news comes soon after the recent appointment of a new CFO in Rob Coldrake.

Flutter will be hoping these changes in personnel will help emulate the positive financial results posted by the operator for FY2023 as we turn the corner into Q3 (and await Q2/H1 results).
