Ohio: The Banks holds grand opening for BetMGM Sportsbook

The sportsbook moved to The Banks from Great American Ball Park.

The Cincinnati Reds will debut its BetMGM Sportsbook at The Banks today as part of its grand opening, according to a local news report in the Cincinnati Enquirer.

The new sportsbook will feature a 350-square-foot video wall, as well as three in-person wagering windows, a VIP lounge with a private bar, 14 self-service wagering kiosks and more than 200 seats.

The Banks’ sportsbook was previously located at Great American Ball Park but has relocated to what used to be Galla Park, the local report said.

The Banks Marketing Director and Property Manager Tracy Schwegmann told the Cincinnati Enquirer that the company is excited for the relocation.

She commented, "We are thrilled about the addition of the BetMGM Sportsbook at The Banks, with the Bengals' season starting and the Reds making a push to playoffs."

BetMGM signed a deal with the Cincinnati Reds last fall. Under the terms of the agreement, BetMGM represents the team as its official sports betting partner.

Since the Supreme Court overturnedPASPA in 2018, online gambling is currently available in more than 30 states, with 18 of those allowing for legal online sports wagering.

Ohio joined the ranks earlier this year, after opening its regulated sports betting market on January 1. Since the market’s opening, the Buckeye State has required that 2% of its tax revenue is to be used for a “problem sports gambling fund.”

In other BetMGM news, the company has partnered with Kindbridge Behavioral Health, a mental health service provider, to offer Colorado self-excluded players access to group support services and comprehensive mental health assessments.

Through the pilot program, players can access resources and schedule appointments to receive immediate outpatient treatment via telehealth services.
