Jamul Casino has prepared for the World Cup in grand fashion, launching viewing parties for every single one of the tournament’s 64 games. These viewing parties began at the onset of the competition – the opening game on Sunday, November 20 between Qatar and Ecuador.
Having missed out on qualification for the 2018 World Cup, US soccer fans are expected to be excited to see their team in the renowned competition after an eight-year wait. This is backed up by polling from a recent survey from the American Gaming Association, which showed that 20.5 million Americans (8% of the population) say they plan to wager a total of $1.8bn on the tournament.
Jamul Casino will be capitalizing on bolstered US interest in the World Cup. Each international game will be shown on the JIVe Lounge’s new 10’x18’ HD LED wall of screens. Cuisine specials will be offered for each viewing party, along with signature cocktails reflecting the competing countries.
The casino’s President and General Manager Mary Cheeks commented: “The World Cup is the perfect opportunity to showcase our new wall of screens in JIVe Lounge. It will offer fans an unparalleled, immersive experience – second only to being at a live game in person.
“With our food & beverage specials and the camaraderie of other fans, it should be a really special way to enjoy the competition. Go USA!"
Jamul Casino has been recognized as one of California’s top sports viewing destinations by several local papers, including the San Diego Union-Tribune. This newspaper has ranked Jamul Casino’s sports bar – Tony Gwynn’s – as ‘San Diego’s Best’ in its readers poll for five consecutive years.
The JIVe Lounge is one of several additions made by Jamul Casino in the past year. Other recent renovations include remodeled High Limits Rooms, a new food court called ‘Jamul Marketplace,’ and a 360-degree cylindrical LED video screen.
