Caesars Entertainment has opened two Caesars sportsbook locations, as well as a poker room, at separate Louisiana-based casinos. Harrah's New Orleans and Horseshoe Bossier City & Casino were the casinos in question, with Harrah’s debuting what is now the largest poker room in Louisiana – the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Room.
Caesars commemorated the opening of these sportsbooks with two ceremonial events, which involved ribbon-cutting and an inaugural first bet. In Harrah’s, the opening was full of pro-football alumni: Archie and Cooper Manning joined former NFL hall-of-Famer Saint Rickey Jackson. It was Jackson who placed the ceremonial first bet with a $1,000 wager for the Saints to win the Super Bowl with odds at 40/1.
Harrah's New Orleans now boasts a 5,700-square-foot sportsbook with four betting windows, 12 self-service betting kiosks, a 147-foot video screen, and a high-powered audio system adjacent to the 5,000-square-foot WSOP Room. The renovations mark the next phase in the ongoing $325m transformation of Harrah's New Orleans into Caesars New Orleans, which is estimated to be complete by 2024.
Meanwhile, in Bossier City, the Horseshoe saw Mayor Tommy Chandler cutting the ribbon ahead of a massive ceremonial first bet of $200,000 by an as-yet-unnamed VIP guest.
Approximately 6,900-square-foot in size, Bossier City features three betting windows, 15 self-service betting kiosks, more than 94 TVs, a VIP viewing section and a massive bar.
Caesars Digital President Eric Hession commented: “These incredible openings are a testament to Louisiana residents, our team members and the guests who visit these historic resorts. We truly feel like we're part of the home team in Louisiana.
“From our Caesars Sportsbook app to our retail sportsbooks and now our elevated WSOP Room, we embrace the opportunity to provide guests with even more unforgettable experiences."
