The Tennessee Sports Wagering Council (SWC) has released the state’s monthly wagering figures for February 2025, revealing a gross handle of $413.5m for the month.
Although this figure represents a 9.3% rise when compared to results from February 2024, it marks the third consecutive month-over-month decline in the state. Indeed, January’s monthly wagering handle reached $543.6m this year, some 24% higher than this latest figure.
Elsewhere, gross wagers totaled $417.4m in the state of Tennessee during February 2025, down 24% again when compared to January – but up 8.7% compared to figures from February 2024. With regard to government revenues, sports wagering tax generated in the state through the month reached $7.6m.
In recent related sports betting news from the Volunteer State, Q4 2024 saw sweepstakes casino operator VGW appeal the Tennessee federal court’s decision to remand nine qui tam lawsuits back to state court – as the operator is facing legal action from several plaintiffs. More recently, last month, IGT extended its contract with the Tennessee Education Lottery until June 2036.
