The company will leave the state at the end of the month.

Global betting operator Betsson Group recently announced a decision to stop operating in the state of Colorado. The company will cease activity at the end of this month.

Betsson first launched its sportsbook in Colorado in March 2022 under its Betsafe brand after receiving GLI 33 certification. The company also opened an office in Denver to support its B2B operations.

A spokesperson for the company explained the decision to leave in more detail by saying, “Betsson has decided to discontinue its B2C operations in Colorado (USA) at the end of September 2024. So, for the foreseeable future, we will not have any B2C offering in the US.

“As communicated initially, our B2C operations in Colorado served primarily to display our sportsbook for B2B purposes and to provide us with valuable first-hand insights into the dynamics of the US online sports betting market.”

Despite stopping its Colorado operations, the company has expanded significantly within the Latin American region.

Betsson recently completed its second expansion through a product launch in Colombia in partnership with Hacksaw Gaming.

The duo has collaborated since 2021 and has launched titles to players in Croatia, Greece, Italy, Denmark and Estonia. Hacksaw described its collaboration with Betsson as “nothing short of triumphant.”

Betsson was also recently selected by Colombian football club Atlético Nacional to be its new global main sponsor as part of a three-year agreement.

Under the terms of the deal, the operator’s signage will be featured on the club’s jerseys. This is the first time in 23 years that the team will sport a fresh logo and look on their jerseys.

Betsson’s logo will be on both the men’s and women’s team jersey for the 2024 Colombian football season.
