Station Casinos gears up for Durango grand opening with fireworks show
The destination will open in early December.
To celebrate the grand opening of Durango Casino & Resort, Station Casinos said it plans to hold a fireworks show on New Year’s Eve. The new casino is scheduled to welcome its first guests on December 5 at 10 AM.
The Grucci firm is responsible for running New Year’s Eve show on the Strip and will “herald the resort’s grand opening,” Station Casinos said in an official release.
Durango will be the first new casino resort in the Las Vegas Valley in more than 10 years. The last destination to open in the valley was M Resort’s opening in 2009.
Once Durango is up and running, the casino will be home to 83,000 square feet of gaming space, 20,000 square feet of meeting space and a 25,000 square-foot food hall.
Guests will have access to four restaurants, a food hall, meeting spaces, outdoor social areas, a pool with cabanas and 200 guest rooms. The company has not yet disclosed details on room availability but said it will unveil those details “in the coming months,” according to Travel Weekly.
Free parking will also be available to casino resort guests. Parking for the fireworks show will be available on south Durango Drive close to the 215 Beltway, starting at 9 PM.
Durango Casino & Resort features a double-sided marquee display that the company first lit earlier this summer. The display is comprised of more than six million color LEDs and measures 55 feet wide and 60 feet high.
