Fanatics Sportsbook launches in Kansas

The move comes following Fanatics’ acquisition of PointsBet

The Fanatics Sportsbook has landed in Kansas. The launch by sportsbook owner Fanatics Betting and Gaming follows the company’s acquisition of PointsBet’s US operations in August last year, which is set to be completed by the end of March. 

With the launch, PointsBet players can expect to see their account information, including username, password, account balance and rewards points automatically migrated over to the Fanatics Sportsbook. 

The migration will likely be similar in process to those seen in New York, Indiana and Michigan, which saw similar automatic migration occur in customer details upon Fanatics Sportsbook’s launch. 

While the Fanatics Casino is only available in Michigan, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, the Fanatics Sportsbook is now available in over a dozen states, with others including Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky and Tennessee. The sportsbook also has retail venues open across the states, with a location opening in Bridgeport, Connecticut this week. 

Users of the sportsbook will have access to a range of features including FanCash rewards, the platform’s Discover page and search functions.  

Outside of its recent launches, Fanatics has found itself at the center of a developing legal case with DraftKings, with the sportsbook filing a charge against former employee and Fanatics President, VP and Head of the LA Office Michael Hermalyn with accusations including downloading company documents onto a ‘non-DK device’ and staff poaching.  

Hermalyn’s response to the preliminary injunction called these accusations ‘unnecessary character assassination’ with ‘no goodwill-based justification.’
