The operator made both the World and North American lists.

Las Vegas Sands has earned a spot on the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI). The destination was placed on the DJSI World Index for the fourth year in a row.

In addition to recognition on the DJSI World Index, Las Vegas Sands made the DJSI North America Index for the eighth time.

The company’s Asian subsidiary, Sands China, grabbed a spot for the second consecutive year on both the DJSI World Index and DJSI Asia Pacific Index.

Company President and COO Patrick Dumont noted that this achievement is a significant company milestone.

He commented, "Our recognition on this premier global sustainability benchmark underscores the impact of our corporate responsibility initiatives and ESG leadership.”

Dumont went on to add that Sands desires to reflect its values in the community, as well as reach its goal of becoming an industry leader when it comes to corporate and social responsibility.

He concluded by saying, "We aim to be the employer and partner of choice in our regions, a model corporate citizen working to ensure strength and resiliency of our communities, and the industry leader in environmental sustainability."

This year, 19 were invited to participate in the program. Las Vegas Sands and Sands China were the sole companies listed on DJSI World this year from the casino and gaming categories.

The DJSI World Index features companies that S&P Global has identified through the Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA). The list is comprised of the top 10% of the largest 2,500 companies that are assessed based on long-term social, environmental and economic criteria.
