theScore supports Ontario bill to expand iGaming to province

Toronto-based Score Media (theScore) has endorsed legislation put forward by Ontario lawmakers that would expand iGaming to the east-central Canadian province.
Las week Ontario legislators introduced a bill that would expand iGaming as part of the province’s 2020 budget. The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario would authorize iGaming if approved.
theScore Founder and CEO John Levy said: “We fully support this action by the provincial government that moves us a significant step closer towards safe and regulated sports betting in Ontario. Canada is theScore’s home turf and we are eager to bring our award-winning sportsbook, theScore Bet, to our highly engaged fans across Ontario, a huge market with a population larger than all but four U.S. states.”
The Toronto area alone includes 6.4m people. The city is home to the NBA’s Raptors, the NHL’s Maple Leafs and MLB’s Blue Jays.
