Colorado August sports betting revenue hits $7.5m

Colorado sportsbooks earned $7.5m in August revenue while handle grew 117% from the month prior.
The return of professional sports basketball, baseball and hockey led to a handle of $129m, up from $59m in July. Online accounted for $127m of wagers.
Basketball paced the way with a handle of $38m, followed by baseball ($23m) and hockey ($14m). In somewhat of a surprise, table tennis beat out golf and soccer for the fourth most wagered on sport, with ping pong handle reaching $5m.
September is shaping up to be another prolific month for Colorado sportsbooks with the return of the Denver Broncos and the Denver Nuggets success in the NBA Playoffs.
