The West Virginia Lottery has approved the FanDuel Sportsbook to offer political wagering including the 2020 general election - although markets have now been taken down.

Mike Raffensperger, CMO of FanDuel Group, said: “As the leading American sportsbook we’re excited to be the first to offer legal political betting, proving once again there truly are more ways to win on FanDuel. We’re proud to have partnered with the West Virginia Lottery to bring these markets into a legal, regulated sportsbook where bettors have appropriate protections and assurances.”

FanDuel posted odds for the winner of the 2020 general election, the Democratic nomination, the Democratic vice presidential nomination, the winning party of the general election and state-by-state winning party.

Donald Trump is a -110 favorite to win the general election, while Joe Biden tracks at +125.

Biden holds -714 odds to win the Democrat nomination, ahead of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (+1400) and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders (+1600).

FanDuel’s political betting markets will only feature national elections.

However, following approval, FanDuel has taken the markets down at the request of the West Virginia Lottery.
