The opening of the second DraftKings retail sportsbook was announced on March 24, 2022. The Hollywood Casino Baton Rouge location marks the second for DraftKings in Louisiana, the other located at the Golden Nugget Lake Charles.
This is also the second collaboration between DraftKings and CQ Holding Company, Inc., which operates DraftKings at Casino Queen in East St. Louis, Illinois.
The temporary location offers bettors 21 and over, 20 self-service kiosks and three over-the-counter sports betting ticket cages.
The Hollywood Casino Baton Rouge is a riverboat casino with approximately 27,000 square feet of gaming space, 859 gaming machines, and 12 table games. Construction on the permanent DraftKings Sportsbook is currently underway.
Recently, the Hollywood Casino began work on a 38,000-square-foot expansion project, moving to a land-based casino. This project includes the DraftKings Sportsbook and new dining locations.
President and CEO of CQ Holding Company, Inc. Terry Downey had this to say: "The temporary DraftKings Sportsbook at Hollywood Casino Baton Rouge will provide customers with new, exciting ways to enjoy this historic property, and we’re thrilled our expanded DraftKings partnership will offer guests their premier sports betting technology."
Downey continued: "We believe this temporary DraftKings Sportsbook space will lay the foundation for one of the most engaging sports viewing environments, which will be further elevated upon the opening of the proposed permanent DraftKings Sportsbook next year."
The Senior Director of Retail Sportsbooks at DraftKings, Michael Kibort said: "We’re excited to expand our DraftKings footprint in Louisiana, showcasing our commitment to the region with the opening of our second retail sportsbook space."

Both the Hollywood Casino Baton Rouge and DraftKings expect the permanent location to be unveiled in 2023.
