The first retail sportsbook at Lakeside will open March 3 during a ribbon-cutting event.

The Lakeside Hotel & Casino in Osceola, Iowa will open its first retail sportsbook through its sister company, the Daily Racing Form (DFR). The new addition represents Lakeside’s first fully owned retail sportsbook in Iowa.

The launch follows the recent opening of its first online sportsbook in the state and the release of its free-to-play mobile sports app, DRF Cash Grab.

The hotel and casino will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate DFR’s retail sportsbook debut on March 3 at noon.

DFR provides both sports and horseracing content for North American bettors and offers players its online wagering platform, DFR Bets. The platform gives players and fans expert picks, current betting stats, as well as handicapping and analysis tools for all US major leagues and sports.

Players can access past racing performances and watch events through live HD video using the DFR Bets app.

Affinity Interactive is DFR’s parent company and includes the Daily Racing Form, DRF Bets, DRF Sports and DRF Cash Grab brands. It is an omni-channel provider of digital and media platforms and serves a customer base of nearly one million. The company also has regional casinos in Nevada, Missouri and Iowa.

James Zenni, Chairman of Affinity Interactive, said the company’s continuing goal is regional expansion, and the upcoming sportsbook launch is a positive step in that direction.

“The opening of the DRF sportsbook is a significant event for Affinity Interactive’s expanding platform,” said Zenni. “This opening advances our overall strategy towards becoming the prominent omni-channel gaming provider in the US.”
