Operator hits new market ahead of 2021 NFL season, now in seven states.

PointsBet, a global online gaming operator, on Friday unveiled the launch of its mobile app and digital sports betting product in West Virginia.

The Mountain State marks the seventh operational state for PointsBet’s sports betting product, following successful launches in New Jersey, Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, Colorado and Michigan.

To help celebrate the occasion, PointsBet said it will provide West Virginia clients with a special signup offer – within one hour of creating a PointsBet account, all new clients will receive a $20 free bet. No deposit or bet placement will be required.

PointsBet also will unveil the “Take Me Home” booster, which will offer clients even money +100 odds for any MLB team to score just one run on Sunday, August 15.

PointsBet has stated its plans to launch its proprietary online casino product in West Virginia in the near future.

As the official, exclusive sports betting partner of NBC Sports, PointsBet said it will utilize the media giant’s premium television and digital assets to promote the PointsBet brand. As part of the agreement, NBC Sports provides PointsBet with year-round, multi-platform media and marketing opportunities across its portfolio of events, including exclusive multiplatform gameday integrations across NBC Sports Regional Networks.

PointsBet said its full Spanish-language functionality will reach Hispanic sports fans via Telemundo Deportes and Telemundo broadcast stations.

“Launching in West Virginia is a special moment for PointsBet and presents another tremendous opportunity we are excited to attack,” Johnny Aitken, PointsBet USA CEO, said in a statement. “We are thrilled to now introduce West Virginian sports bettors to PointsBet’s competitive advantages in owning our technology end-to-end, such as our speed and ease of use as well as a slate of betting options on every NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, WNBA and PGA Tour contest.”

PointsBet originally was founded in Australia and is rapidly expanding its US footprint.
