Betano weighs Corinthians sponsorship and stadium naming rights deal

Talks come amid new contractual conditions that lower penalty fees for potential changes.
Key Points
- Betano is considering acquiring both the naming rights of Neo Química Arena and the shirt sponsorship of Corinthians
- Contractual penalty fees for current agreements have been reduced, opening a negotiation window
- Corinthians previously rejected an official proposal, mentioning values below expectations
Betano is in talks with Corinthians over a potential agreement that would combine the naming rights of Neo Química Arena with the club’s master sponsorship.
According to reports, the operator is expected to present an official proposal in the coming weeks.
The negotiations are unfolding as contractual conditions have created a more favourable environment for changes. Since 1 September, the penalty for breaking the naming rights contract with Hypera Pharma has dropped from BR123.2m ($22.7m) to around BR70m.
Meanwhile, Corinthians’ contract with current shirt sponsor Esportes da Sorte contains a clause allowing both parties to reassess the deal in October, when the exit fee falls from BR100m to about BR40m.
Despite the opportunity, the club has already rejected at least one official offer combining naming rights and shirt sponsorship, mentioning the financial terms were insufficient.
Good to know: Betano has recently secured a record master sponsorship deal with Flamengo
Corinthians has said it will follow a competitive process, similar to the one used to renegotiate the stadium’s operations, inviting multiple companies to submit sealed proposals that meet minimum requirements.
The current naming rights holder has expressed interest in keeping its position and is expected to take part in the competitive process.
Market observers suggest that any eventual agreement with Corinthians is unlikely to match Flamengo’s figures, due to the club’s internal challenges and reputational concerns.
