Brazil: Flamengo announces Betano as new lead sponsor

It will cover professional football, Olympic sports and FlamengoTV

The Brazilian Clube de Regatas do Flamengo has officially named Betano as its new master partner. 

The agreement covers the professional football team, Olympic sports including volleyball, basketball and women’s football, as well as FlamengoTV, expanding the brand’s presence across multiple areas of the Club.

Recently, Betano has sponsored the 2025 Brasil Ladies Cup, a women’s soccer tournament scheduled for October at Estádio do Canindé in São Paulo, it has refurbished a basketball court in Leblon, Rio de Janeiro and, outside Brazil, and it became the main sponsor of Argentina’s Club Atlético River Plate. 

Its international presence aligns with Flamengo’s strategy for global expansion, while in Germany it is now also partnered with Bayern Munich.

This partnership represents the largest sponsorship deal in Brazilian football, highlighting both the strength of the Flamengo brand and Betano’s global relevance.

Flamengo is no stranger to betting partners: recently, Flamengo’s coach, Filipe Luís has voiced his apprehension regarding sports betting sponsorships in Brazilian football.

Good to know: The final step to formalize the contract is a meeting of Flamengo’s Deliberative Council, scheduled for August 19, 2025

In a recent interview, he highlighted a potential conflict between the values that clubs aim to uphold and the commercial relationships they maintain with betting companies.

In addition, Bruno Henrique, a Flamengo player, has been formally charged by the Federal Police for fraud and match-fixing linked to suspicious betting activity during a 2023 Campeonato Brasileiro match between Flamengo and Santos.

The club expressed gratitude to Betano for its trust and for choosing Flamengo as its worldwide partner.
