Detroit casino revenue increases 1% to $107m for June 2025

The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has reported the city’s casino activity throughout the month of July 2025, as revenue increased 1% year-over-year to $107m, despite table games and slot revenue having fallen 0.3% from the prior year period for a total of $106m.
For July 2025, MGM Grand Detroit led all properties in table games and slot revenue with a total of $50.8m, but the figure also represents a decrease of 0.9% year-over-year. MotorCity Casino managed to increase its table games and slot revenue by 1.2% from the prior year period to $31.6m, while Hollywood Casino at Greektown reported a decrease of 0.9% to $23.6m.
The three casinos also paid nearly $8.6m to the state in gaming taxes for July 2025, as well as $12.6m in wagering taxes and development agreement payments to the City of Detroit.
The MGCB also reported a retail sports wagering handle of $5.7m for the period, equating to a decrease of 13.4% from the prior year period despite the offering witnessing an increase in revenue from the $400,000 loss reported for July 2024.

Having accounted for the remaining $1m in July 2025 revenue for Detroit casinos, retail sports betting adjusted gross receipts (AGR) also increased by 55.1% month-over-month.
MotorCity Casino reported $468,725 in retail sports betting AGR for July 2025, while MGM Grand Detroit and Hollywood Casino at Greektown generated $190,153 and $373,025, respectively, throughout the period.
Fantasy contest operators witnessed $567,000 in adjusted revenues for the month, and paid just over $47,600 in taxes to the state.
