The company released an alert to its clients last week.

Key points:

- The alert alleges that a bettor tried to place a large wager on Central Michigan to cover spread on an Eastern Michigan game

- The investigation said it found “two other high stakes wagers from two accounts in a different jurisdiction”

Men’s college basketball games between Eastern Michigan (EMU) and Central Michigan are currently under investigation by betting integrity firms, according to an ESPN report.

Sports betting monitor Integrity Compliance 360 recently sent out an alert to its clients, informing them that “a bettor had attempted to place ‘their largest wager to date’ on Central Michigan to cover the spread in the first half of its home game against Eastern Michigan.”

“While investigating, the operator also found two other high stakes wagers from two accounts in a different jurisdiction, both on Central Michigan 1st Half spread," according to the alert

A spokesperson for the university reached out to ESPN via a media release and said, "We became aware of the matter on Wednesday and a review is underway.

"At this time, we do not know anything further about what may have precipitated the suspicious activity. We are working with the Mid-American Conference and will provide further details as we learn additional information."

Integrity Compliance 360 is a recent rebranding between US Integrity and Odds On Compliance.

The two former brands merged with a focus on “providing integrity and compliance regtech products and services for the sports betting and gaming sector.”

In related news, a sixth person in connection with the sports betting scandal involving former NBA player Jontay Porter was arrested in Las Vegas while on his way to Panama.

Shane Hennen was arrested Sunday at the Las Vegas airport, the Associated Press report said. Preliminary charges included wire fraud conspiracy.

The arrest led to authorities releasing information on a text message allegedly sent by Porter, “explaining how to cash in on his plans to bench himself in a January 2024 game.”

Prior to his dismissal from the NBA, Porter played center for the Toronto Raptors. The NBA began looking into prop bet abnormalities surrounding the player last spring.
