The Arizona Department of Gaming has released its statewide sports betting results for the month of October. The state reported accepting $791.2m in bets during the month, an increase of nearly $150m when compared to wagering results from one year ago.
Mobile sports betting generated nearly $784.4m to the state’s total handle, while retail locations brought in more than $6.8m.
Players placed the bulk of Arizona’s mobile bets with several major operators during the month of September. Caesars, DraftKings, BetMGM and FanDuel were the top earners during the month and took in more than $650m in wagers.
Wagers placed with DraftKings and FanDuel reached a combined total of nearly $508m.
DraftKings grabbed the top spot as the highest earner in October. The operator took in more than $258m in online bets, plus an additional nearly $3.2m in wagers from its retail locations.
FanDuel followed closely behind and collected $252m in total bets during the month.
Other high-performing operators included BetMGM and Caesars, with sports wagers that reached $100.4m and $45m respectively.
Arizona sports bettors walked away in October with almost $736m in winnings. Players took home $729m in winnings from mobile bets, along with another nearly $6.6m from retail bets.
The state’s operators ended the month with close to $53.7m in total revenue.
The state collected close to $2.4m in privilege fees during the month of October.
Arizona has welcomed legal sports betting outside of Tribal gaming for nearly three years. The state first legalized sports wagers in April 2021 after Governor Doug Ducey signed the bill into law. The state debuted its sports wagering market in September 2021.
