West Virginia Lottery has introduced its fully digital gambling program, set to give Lottery players the ability to purchase and play draw and scratch-off games entirely online. Beginning at 6am local time, Lottery players in West Virginia can purchase tickets for draw games like Powerball and Mega Millions online or through an app called iPlay.

Concurrently, the West Virginia Lottery will also be launching a new website design and loyalty program, according to the announcement.

“The iLottery program allows players to participate completely from the comfort of their homes and adds a level of convenience for those who like to play,” West Virginia Lottery Director John Myers said.

West Virginia will now become the 12th state to offer iLottery playing options and the eighth with e-Instant products, or scratch-off games.

Good to know: Oddin.gg expanded its presence in North America with a temporary sports betting license from the West Virginia Lottery Commission on August 1

The PlayOn rewards program will allow for players to earn points based on their Lottery purchases and redeem rewards. The Lottery’s announcement states that these types of programs have helped to increase sales in traditional brick-and-mortar retail locations.

Lottery purchases in West Virginia were cash-only until 2022 when Legislative Rule 179CSR1 gave retailers the option to accept debit and credit card payments.

The release also stated that online accounts can be loaded with ACH and VISA at launch, with other payment options to be made available shortly.
