ESPN Bet debuts new advertisement ‘Delivery’ featuring Scott Van Pelt and ‘Stanford’ Steve Coughlin.
ESPN Bet has launched a new ad with some recognizable names…
It was launched in celebration of March Madness, and the entertaining yet sporadic nature of college basketball over the month. The annual event is hugely popular across the US, often leading to stark increases in monthly revenue for online and retail sportsbook organizations. In March 2023, Michigan’s combined sportsbooks saw a 13.4% increase from February with $451.6m in online bets.
The advertisement embraces the heightened betting engagement that is often sparked by fan-driven narratives – and the comedic nature of the moments this can lead to. Entitled “Delivery,” the short feature follows Coughlin who is placed on the spot, trying to secure the food delivery order. All the while, Van Pelt is one of many who are intent on catching every second of the action.
The Fifth original installment of ESPN Bet’s ongoing “What A Play” campaign, developed as part of a collaboration with creative arts agency Arts & Letters, the first of which was launched in November of 2023. In addition to Van Pelt and Coughlin – ESPN Get Up host Mike Greenberg, ESPN NBA Analyst Kendrick Perkins and SportsCenter host Elle Duncan have also appeared as guest stars across the series of advertisements.
The popularity of March Madness, and its subsequent effect, cannot be understated. This was evident in 2022, when the Las Vegas casinos reported near record-level winnings for March.
ESPN Bet is available in 18 states across iOS and android and features an online, Hollywood-style casino. This advertisement premiered a week after ESPN Bet announced its pre-registration for its official North Carolina debut launch – making it the 18th state in which ESPN Bet is now available.
