GAN appoints David Goldberg to serve as next Chairman

He will succeed former Chairman Seamus McGill.

GAN has made several changes to its Board of Directors that will soon take effect, including appointing David Goldberg to serve as Chairman. He will replace Seamus McGill, who has decided to step down from the position.

However, McGill will continue to serve as Interim CEO and “will be focused on guiding the company towards a timely closing with Sega Sammy Creation Inc.”

Michael Smurfit will also step down as a Board Member at the end of the year. He took a moment to explain his reasons for leaving the board.

Smurfit commented, “With the strategic review now concluded, I feel now is the appropriate time for me to step down from the Board of Directors.

“I am fully supportive of the transaction with Sega Sammy Creation Inc. and look forward to a timely closing. I would like to wish David every success in his new role.”

Goldberg briefly commented on stepping up as Chairman and on Smurfit’s departure from the board.

He said, “It’s an honor to be elected to serve as GAN’s next Chairman and lead the company toward a successful transaction close with Sega Sammy Creation Inc.

“On behalf of the entire Board of Directors, I’d also like to thank Michael Smurfit for his commitment and leadership throughout his time on the Board. We wish Michael well in his future endeavors.”

In addition to Goldberg, GAN has named David Ross to its Board of Directors. Ross has been in the gaming and hospitality industries for more than three decades. He also has experience is capital markets.

Ross said, “It is a privilege to be joining GAN’s Board of Directors during such a pivotal time in their history.

“I look forward to my contributions to the GAN team as we work toward satisfying all approvals and closing conditions to be acquired by Sega Sammy Creation Inc.”
