IGT brings Powerbucks and MegaJackpots omnichannel games to Canada
The games will be hosted on PlayAlberta.ca and available across all legal, regulated Canadian gaming jurisdictions.
International Game Technology (IGT) has announced that its Powerbucks and MegaJackpots omnichannel games will now be available in Canada via an expansion through PlayAlberta.ca. The site is run by the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC), and will be the first launch of the games across the entirety of Canada.
Powerbucks is a wide area progressive game with the ability to link a jackpot prize pool between different machines across land-based gaming venues with digital games. MegaJackpots is an IGT PlayDigital exclusive and acts as a wide area progressive jackpot network.
Alberta’s players can win jackpots on not only these games, but also on Wheel of Fortune Exotic Far East, Wheel of Fortune Ruby Riches, MegaJackpots Cleopatra and Wolf Run.
IGT’s SVP of Canada, South and Central America, David Flinn, said, “IGT is thrilled to expand our Powerbucks network to AGLC, now delivering the excitement of these omnichannel WAP jackpot games to players across all Canadian jurisdictions where online gaming is legal and regulated.

IGT has been busy in Canada lately, as the company also recently struck a deal with the AGLC to replace over 2,600 video lottery terminals (VLTs) in Alberta and has provided 720 new VLTS to the Western Canada Lottery Corporation.
Earlier this month, IGT also announced a strategic review, including a possible sale, merger or spinoff of its PlayDigital and Global Gaming segments.
