Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation awarded $37.5m cybersecurity contract

The Tribe will use it to train workers to protect cyber and physical infrastructures.
The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation has been awarded a three-year $37.5m contract to support cybersecurity and infrastructure by WWC Global, one of the Tribe’s holding companies.
This holding company focuses on the business side of government, which includes finances, training and management. This contract represents a switch from the Tribe’s current focus on job creation in the gaming industry.
The contract is intended to support the Cybersecurity Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) in an effort to mitigate risks to the US cyber and physical infrastructure.
WWC Global Chief Growth Officer Lauren Weiner believes this partnership with CISA will expand client support in the technology sector. She commented: “With over 18 years of federal agency contract work, we believe our subject matter experts will be an integral part of supporting this US Government mission.”
Command Holdings is the parent company of WWC Global and its CEO, Jon Panamaroff, said the contract will help provide critical services for the Department of Homeland Security.
Panamaroff commented: “It’s added an opportunity for different types of career paths for local people, as well as people throughout the nation. We have a high focus on Native American hire as well as a high focus on veteran and military spouse hire.”
WWC Global received the 2022 Gold Medallion winner for veteran hire from the Department of Labor. Panamaroff said that roughly 65% of the company’s labor force identifies as military, military spouse, or Native American and this partnership will create fresh job opportunities for these demographics.
Panamaroff commented: “It’s added an opportunity for different types of career paths for local people as well as people throughout the nation. We have a high focus on Native American hire as well as a high focus on veteran and military spouse hire.”
He continued to say this new contract will allow the Tribe to expand beyond its current fortes within the hospitality and gaming industries.
