Formula 1 is returning to Las Vegas in 2023

The neon-soaked race will take place on a Saturday night next November.
After much speculation, Formula 1 (F1) is finally returning to Las Vegas. Following in the footsteps of Miami and Austin, Vegas will host the race next November as the United States looks to capitalize on the world-famous racing competition.
Taking place on a 3.8 mile, 14-turn track, the Las Vegas Grand Prix will allow drivers to reach speeds of around 212mph.
The birth of this new race will undoubtedly be a boon for the city’s gaming industry, with MGM Resorts International, Caesars Entertainment and Wynn Resorts International all taking on the roles of founding partners. Moreover, The Venetian and Resorts World Las Vegas will act as presenting partners.
“This is an incredible moment for Formula 1 that demonstrates the huge appeal and growth of our sport with a third race in the US. Las Vegas is a destination known around the world for its excitement, hospitality, thrills, and of course, the famous Strip,” noted F1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali.
This will not be the first time that the world’s premier racing competition has graced the Silver State. Indeed, the state hosted races in both 1981 and 1982.
Drivers themselves are clearly looking forward to the race, with seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton stating: “That’s going to be a pretty hardcore event” and his colleague Pierrer Gasly remarking that the race is “going to be insane.”
This news comes as the Nevada gaming market continues to grow at a torrid pace. February saw the region’s casinos win $1.113bn, a 44% increase from the same period in 2021.
