Mohegan Sun, FanDuel partner with famous names for sportsbook launch

The property is set to launch its sports betting offering on Saturday, March 5.
FanDuel is set to launch its retail sports betting offering at the Mohegan Sun Casino this coming Saturday. With the launch comes a grand opening party featuring some well-known celebrity guests.
From 7pm to 10pm on Saturday, March 5, this grand opening will feature celebrities such as the former heavyweight champion Michael Buffer, Larry Holmes of New England Patriots fame, Max “Big Country” Lane and Dan Koppean. On top of these esteemed guests, Super Bowl winner and wide receiver Chris Hogan is also set to make an appearance.
Betting will commence as soon as the grand opening has begun, with customers able to place bets on that evening’s games.
This sportsbook will consist of 11,000 square feet of gaming space, with 39 betting kiosks and 222 seats as well as a bar. Moreover, the venue will feature a 140-foot tall TV, so fans can enjoy live NFL, NBA and MMA match ups while betting.
“We are beyond excited about this new venue, which completely transforms Mohegan Sun’s old Race Book space,” Jeff Hamilton, President & General Manager of Mohegan Sun, said in a statement.
“The all-new Mohegan Sun FanDuel Sportsbook is led by Sportsbook General Manager Brad Bryant. We are thrilled to welcome sports fans out to this new venue, and we plan to have special appearances throughout the year, beginning with our Grand Opening on March 5.”
This new gaming space will provide the local community with 120 jobs according to Mohegan Sun.
