Bally’s unveils plans for integrated Las Vegas Strip resort

Operator Bally’s Corporation has announced plans for a new Las Vegas Strip integrated casino resort located on the old site of the legendary Tropicana.
Following the demolition of the old Tropicana in October 2024, Bally’s has unveiled the next steps in its new plans to build an integrated resort, complete with casino and baseball stadium, on the site. Development is set to begin in the first half of 2026 and has now been officially submitted for entitlements to Clark County. The project is also set to feature two hotel towers with 3,000 rooms and an additional, 2,500-seater entertainment venue.
Indeed, this project has been in the works for some time, with the operator initially given the green light by the Nevada Gaming Commission to purchase Tropicana Las Vegas from Gaming and Leisure Properties (GLPI) for $308m in 2022. The plan has not been without controversy, however, as in 2023 the announcement of the potential closure of Tropicana led to staff uncertainty and job losses.
Nevertheless, Bally’s Corportation moved ahead by announcing plans to demolish Tropicana in March 2024 to make way for this new development.

Commenting on this latest development, Bally’s Corporation Chairman of the Board of Directors, Soo Kim, said, “Bally’s Las Vegas represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to redefine the heart of the Strip.
“With world-class partners like JLL and Marnell, and with the arrival of Major League Baseball, we are not just building an integrated resort. We are creating a landmark destination that unites sports, entertainment, dining and hospitality on a scale only Las Vegas can deliver.”
