Merkur Group acquisition of Gaming Arts completes

Key Points
- The Merkur Group will be able to make use of Gaming Arts’ 150+ licenses
- Merkur Gaming US will soon be trading in Nevada
- The deals mark a return to the state for the Merkur Group after more than 20 years
The Merkur Group has been on a push in 2025 to expand its presence in the US, and with the deal to acquire Gaming Arts LLC now officially completed, it has cemented its status as an operator in land-based Nevada operations.
An acquisition was approved by the Nevada Gaming Commission back in May of 2025 around the same time the German corporate group’s subsidiary, Merkur Gaming US, had its license rubberstamped to manufacture and distribute its products in the state.
The Merkur Group, formerly the Gauselmann Group, has in fact had a working relationship with Gaming Arts for some time, having entered into supply agreement together in 2023.
Dominik Raasch, Management Board Member at Merkur Games, said: “With Gaming Arts, we are now able to place Merkur products directly in a wide range of US jurisdictions. This marks an important step in expanding our international growth beyond European borders.”
Between that pre-existing arrangement, the newly granted license and now the outright acquisition of Gaming Arts, Merkur is well-placed to reestablish itself as a significant player in Nevada more than two decades since it left that market.

“This partnership elevates everything we’re doing at Gaming Arts. With Merkur’s global reach and resources behind us, we are positioned to deliver bold innovation and world-class execution like never before,” said Robert Ziems, CEO of Gaming Arts.
Gaming Arts is a prominent developer and provider of slot machines, electronic table games and other technologies for the gaming industry – the company has a prominent position in the Las Vegas gaming ecosystem but is licensed in around 150 jurisdictions across the US, Canada and LatAm.
In fact, the merging of these two major firms unites a huge amount of regional accessibility, with the Merkur Group itself operating across 90 countries.
