Argentina: Soccer club denies involvement in alleged match-fixing investigation

A third-division soccer club from Campana, Argentina, is being accused of a match-fixing attempt.

The club, named Villa Dálmine, issued an official statement addressing recent media reports related to sports betting, clarifying that the individual mentioned in ongoing investigations holds no current role within the organization, either in a leadership or collaborative capacity.

It also emphasized that the judiciary has not formally implicated Villa Dálmine in the case under investigation.

According to the club, a recent raid was carried out at the residence of a former club official, whose name has not been disclosed by the club. However, the legal proceedings reportedly concern the alleged actions of the official’s son.

The statement read: “This matter pertains strictly to the private sphere of the individual involved and bears no connection to the operations or institutional conduct of our club.
