Rafael Moraes, a professional poker player and PokerStars ambassador, has officially taken over as CEO of Brazilian Series of Poker (BSOP).
Moraes aims to triple BSOP’s revenue by 2026 through a strategy that includes monetizing digital content, launching new cash game verticals and expanding the sponsor portfolio.
BSOP Founder Igor Trafane praised the transition, saying Moraes “will carry on the legacy with long-term vision and passion for the sport.”
Moraes stated that the company’s goal is to be positioned “not just as a major sporting event, but as a structured business with real impact on the economy, tourism and brand value.”
“We’ll grow responsibly while preserving the credibility built over the past 19 years,” he added.
In 2024 alone, BSOP awarded BRL200m in prizes, ranking just behind Brazil’s two main football competitions in terms of total payouts.

Before being announced as CEO, Moraes had been part of BSOP operations since 2024, as he created a monthly streaming programme and expanded the number of high buy-in tournaments, attracting both international players and sponsors.
The circuit is also seeking partnerships with fintechs, media groups and tourism and lifestyle brands to broaden its reach.
Odds tell a story long before the result does. When bettors learn to read that story properly, betting becomes a matter of discipline and value rather than emotion or guesswork.
