Brazilian Ministry of Sports and Sportradar announce partnership

New agreement to focus on match-fixing and improve oversight in Brazil’s sports sector.
Key Points
- The Brazilian Ministry of Sports has signed a cooperation agreement with Sportradar to support integrity in the country’s betting market
- Sportradar will provide monitoring tools, training and information-sharing support to help detect and prevent suspicious activity
The Brazilian Ministry of Sports and Sportradar Group have signed a Technical Cooperation Agreement (ACT) to focus on sport integrity in Brazil.
The agreement enables both parties to exchange information related to the betting market and to work together on initiatives to prevent match-fixing.
Sportradar will work alongside the Ministry through its Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS), which monitors betting patterns and identifies potentially suspicious activity.
The company will also provide education and training for Ministry staff on best practices in monitoring and investigating irregularities.
The first training session is scheduled for 15 May and will include representatives from the Brazilian Ministry of Finance, which has also recently signed an ACT with Sportradar.
Sportradar already has several partnerships in Brazil, including with the Goiás State Attorney’s Office, the Brazilian Volleyball Confederation (CBV), the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) and football federations across 17 states.
Good to know: Sportradar’s UFDS monitors over 1,000 betting operators to detect irregular betting activity
Andreas Krannich, Sportradar EVP, Integrity and Regulatory Services, stated: “Establishing this partnership with the Ministry of Sports is an important milestone in strengthening sports integrity in Brazil.
“As a global integrity leader, leveraging cutting-edge technology to prevent and combat match-fixing, we believe that protecting competitions requires coordinated action between the public and private sectors.
“Through this collaboration, Sportradar continues to reaffirm its commitment to a more transparent and safer sports environment for the athletes and all the stakeholders involved in Brazilian sport.”
This partnership with the Brazilian Ministry of Sports follows Sportradar’s recent agreements with BetMakers and Podium, which saw the Advantage Platform integrated into Sportradar’s sportsbook offering.
