Sara Slane joins Kalshi as Head of Corporate Development

Slane has formerly held the position of SVP for the AGA, as well as VP of Regional Government Affairs with MGM Resorts.
Key Points
- The former AGA executive stated she has been working as a consultant for Kalshi over the last number of months, also explaining how she has “never seen” a company in this stage of explosive growth
- Slane also wrote that she is “thrilled” to be working towards a future where every operator has predictions markets as part of its product
Following legal action taken against its predictions markets over recent months, Kalshi has appointed Sara Slane as Head of Corporate Development, with Slane having worked as a consultant for the operator since 2024.
“I’ve spent years in the sports industry, and after my many accomplishments enabled me to set up a successful solo consulting business, I thought I was done working for anyone but myself,” Slane said.
“This changed when I started consulting for Kalshi a few months ago. Never in my career have I seen a company with the combination of characteristics that Kalshi has: bold vision, outlier founders, deep commitment to regulatory compliance and astronomical growth.”
During April 2025 alone, Kalshi has received cease-and-desist letters from the Ohio Casino Control Commission and is currently under investigation by the Illinois Gaming Board for illegal sports wagering.
Despite the action taken against Kalshi, Slane stated the operator has been swallowing the “bitter pill of watching their competitors gain traction by skirting the law or operating offshore.”
Good to know: Kalshi’s CEO Tarek Mansour confirmed the company’s plans to enter into legal action against the states of Nevada and New Jersey on March 31, following recent rulings which have looked to shut down its sports betting markets
“In large part due to their obsession with product experience, I have never seen a company in a stage of explosive growth like Kalshi. The trading volume, web traffic, attention in the media and the long list of companies ready to integrate as brokers with Kalshi is staggering,” Slane said.
“I’m joining as Head of Corporate Development to help handle some of that integration demand. There’s palpable industry excitement about the benefits prediction markets can provide, and I’m thrilled to be working towards a future where all of the operators have prediction markets as part of their product.”
Slane served as SVP of the American Gaming Association (AGA) when the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) was overturned during May 2018, also holding the role of VP of Regional Government Affairs for MGM Resorts from 2007-2013.
