Michigan regulator reminds gamblers to play responsibly during Super Bowl

The control board urges players to use legal and licensed sportsbooks.

The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has released a responsible gaming message for those betting on this year’s Super Bowl.
The regulator said that it “urges sports fans and bettors to practice responsible betting and wager only through authorized, legal sportsbook operators.”
MGCB Executive Director Henry Williams commented, “Each year, the Super Bowl unites millions of fans, football lovers, and bettors around the world,”
“As we come together to watch the game, let’s remember the importance of responsible betting to guarantee a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.”
The Kansas City Chiefs will take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, February 9 in in New Orleans’ Caesar Superdome
Kickoff is at 6:30PM Eastern Time.
Other state regulators have published similar messages during the past couple of weeks, including the Arizona Department of Gaming, the Massachusetts Gaming Commission and the Virginia Council on Problem Gambling.
In related news, H2 Gambling Capital recently published its wagering projections for Super Bowl LIX.
The company estimated that the US handle collected through onshore licensed sportsbooks could reach $1.6bn.
“This will be the eleventh time that New Orleans has hosted the Super Bowl, becoming the joint-most popular host city for the Super Bowl along with Miami,” H2 Gambling said in a statement. “H2 expect a record amount of wagers will be riding on the game, the highest wagering on a single game in the United States.”
H2 Gambling Capital further commented, “H2’s 2025 estimate suggests that the strong growth will continue, implying a 17% increase in Super Bowl wagers this year. This is predominantly driven by growth in existing states.”
