Circa Survivor passes $10m prize money threshold

Circa Sports has announced that its upcoming NFL competition, Circa Survivor, has surpassed the $10m prize money threshold for this year’s edition of the contest.
CEO Derek Stevens and Circa Sports raised the stakes after last year’s record total of $9.267m, guaranteeing $10m in prize money to be given away. Now that the total has been surpassed, every future entry will increase the total prize pool and the eventual record-setting number will be known after the 2pm deadline on September 7.
On September 2, the operator announced that it had received 10,000 entries for the professional football contest, ensuring that Stevens’ guarantee would be hit.
Circa Survivor will consist of up to 20 legs throughout the year, one for every week of the football season plus two special holiday weeks.
Each week, participants will choose a team to win straight up, but the player cannot pick the same team twice for the duration of the season.
Entries are $1,000 each, with a maximum of 10 entries per participant. An entrant can purchase additional entries if they lose their original entries on the opening Thursday night or Friday night games.
Competitors are eliminated from the contest by selecting a team that subsequently loses or ties its game that week. If more than one entry remains after 20 legs, the pool will be split equally amongst all the entries that successfully submitted a selection during the leg.
Entries for participants outside of Nevada can register a proxy to submit picks from within the state. Proxies must be present at the time of registration.
