Detroit casinos post $105.4m in revenue during June
Slot and table game revenue rose year-over-year.
The Michigan Gaming Control Board has published its June results for the state’s three casinos in Detroit. During the month, all three locations reported $105.4m in combined revenue.
Table games and slot revenue from the city’s three casinos accounted for almost $104.5m of the total for the month. The nearly $900k in revenue reamining came from retail sports betting.
Last month’s report showed that revenue from both slots and table games reflected a 2.6% increase year-over-year.
However, revenue during the month fell by 6.1% when compared to results from May.
As in previous months, MGM held the top spot during June, accounting for 46% of April’s market shares. MotorCity and Hollywood Casino at Greektown followed close behind, with 30% and 24% respectively.
MotorCity was the only casino last month to report a decline in monthly gaming revenue. The casino’s total revenue reached nearly $31.2m. Revenue during the month fell by 3.1%.
MGM reported a 3.6% rise in June revenue when compared to numbers from May. Total revenue climbed to $48.7m for the month.
Hollywood Casino at Greektown posted almost $24.4m in revenue last month, up by 9% month-over-month.
Detroit’s casinos paid the state $8.5m in gaming taxes during the month of June and contributed an additional $12.4m in wagering taxes and development agreement payments to the city.
Concerning retail sports betting, the city’s three casinos brought in a total handle of almost $8.4m during the month of June, with $900k in total gross receipts.
Qualified adjusted gross receipts (QAGR) for the month fell by more than 52% month-over-month.
MotorCity grabbed the top spot for sports betting activity for the month, reporting a QAGR of nearly $500k.
