BetMGM reports 209% increase in home run bets from new features

Customers can select a player to hit the first home run of the game, the longest home run of the day and whether there will be a grand slam.
BetMGm has introduced new baseball betting features for its home run markets, resulting in a 209% increase in bets placed for the long ball. The development of different home run betting options, new parlay and live betting experiences plus a $50k Grand Slam Jackpot have all factored into the growth for BetMGM.
Customers can select from a full field of play on the long ball, including the player to hit the first home run of the game, the longest home run of the day and whether there will be a grand slam. BetMGM also states it currently offers the best prices for home run props in the industry.
The integration of Angstrom, a sports forecasting and data analytics program, helped extend BetMGM’s baseball offering, including improved same-game parlay (SGP) and SGP+ capabilities, new at-bat live betting experiences and better responsiveness for customers. SGPs for baseball can now be built two ways, either through a dedicated SGP tab or by visiting an event page and adding selections to the bet slip, where SGPs are calculated in real-time.
“The new integration of enhanced data analytics from Angstrom has fueled the evolution of the BetMGM app into a best-in-class product, giving our fans more ways than ever to be a part of the most exciting moments in baseball,” BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt said.
“In the first month, we’ve seen a 209% increase in home run bets placed compared to the same period in 2023. We’re setting the stage for the biggest baseball season for BetMGM to date.”
Every Friday through Sunday, customers who place a prop wager of at least $10 for a player to hit a home run in a select game are automatically entered into the BetMGM Grand Slam Jackpot contest. If the player hits a grand slam in that game, the customer will win a share of a $50k bonus bet prize pool. The promotion has already seen customers cash out on 23 grand slams hit so far, totaling over $500k in bonus bets awarded. The contest is not currently available in the state of Nevada.
BetMGM currently operates in 29 markets with mobile and retail offerings.
