World Poker Tour arrives in Montreal this month

Players will have a chance to qualify for the WPT Global Championship during the event.
Poker fans will have another chance to get in on the action at another World Poker Tour (WPT) live event this month. WPT will kick off its Montreal run on May 8 with its WPT500 Online Day One event.
WPT said in explained what players can expect during this month’s tour by saying, “Players can qualify to the Championship event on WPT Global, as well as winning their way to Day 2 by participating in Day 1s for both the WPT Prime and WPT500 events.
“Players will also get to enjoy a WPT Meet Up cash game night with bomb pots and prizes running all night long.”
The first day’s event has a US$440 buy-in. Players will compete for a chance to walk away with a CA$500,000 guaranteed prize pool during the WPT500.
Other events on the schedule include the WPT Prime Online Day One and the WPT Montreal Championship Satellite. Both events will kick off on May 12.
The WPT Prime Online Day One event offers the opportunity to advance to a live event on day two, where players can compete for the event’s top prize. The buy-in for Prime Online is $850.
Players can participate in the WPT Montreal Championship Satellite event with a buy-in of $220. Tournament winners will gain a seat at the CA$3,500 buy-in WPT Montreal Championship. WPT said at least three seats will be up for grabs.
Those who advance to the championship satellite game will play for a CA$2,000,000 guaranteed prize pool, as well as a chance to have their name inscribed on the Mike Sexton Champions Cup.
