Two Nebraska casinos post revenue highs for March

WarHorse Casino and Grand Island reported a rise in activity during the month.
Casino revenue at Nebraska’s brick-and-mortar locations have reached the highest to date.
Lincoln and Grand Island said they have had their “best months ever.”
Lincoln’s WarHorse Casino generated close to $5.5m in revenue during the month of March. The casino posted its highest revenue since it opened 18 months ago. A bulk of the revenue came from slot machines.
Slot machines contributed nearly $5.2m to WarHorse’s revenue total. The casino’s sportsbook brought in another $325,600 to add to March’s revenue.
Sportsbook Manager Jason Johnston shared with the New York Times, “March Madness was good for us.”
WarHorse Gaming recently signed an on-property sportsbook agreement with Kambi that resulted in the launch of Nebraska’s first sportsbook at WarHorse Casino Lincoln. Under the terms of the deal, WarHorse Gaming will debut its Lincoln casino sportsbook, with another sportsbook launch scheduled next year at WarHorse Casino Omaha.
The Kambi sportsbook features 400 new slots, as well as simulcast and live thoroughbred racing. Players can access both the Bring Your Own Device technology and Bet Builder tool, along with on-site Kambi sportsbook technology in the form of in-person kiosks.
WarHorse Gaming is a division of its parent company, Ho-Chunk, Inc. The company is currently regulated by the Nebraska Gaming Commission.
The Grand Island Casino and Resort also celebrated bringing in an all-time high for its revenue during March. The casino generated close to $3.7m in revenue for the month but posted a loss in its sports betting revenue.
Grand Island General Manager Vince Fiala told the New York Times, “We don’t offer as many of the propositions that the others are offering.
“Obviously we’d like to make some money in the sportsbook, and I think we will once we offer more bets. Right now, we’re pretty conservative on what we’re doing.”
