Both Pennsylvania and New Jersey have shown an increase in iGaming revenue, making up about a third of each state's total.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has reported total revenue of $440.5m from all forms of gaming within the state for the month of June. This represents a 13% increase from June 2022, but an 8% decrease from the previous month.

Casino games, iGaming, fantasy contests, sports wagering, retail slots and video gaming are all legal in Pennsylvania and contribute to the state’s total gaming revenue.

While close, Pennsylvania’s June revenue is also slightly behind New Jersey’s gaming win for June, which reached $457.2m, a 13.9% increase from June 2022. When comparing the two states further, slots made the most for both states, with Pennsylvania’s June slot revenue reaching $201.5m, and New Jersey’s sitting at $183m.

The greatest contrast in revenue for both states was for sports wagering, where Pennsylvania generated $23m, or 65% less than New Jersey’s $66.4m. Though sports wagering revenue in The Keystone State has increased 80% year-on-year, June’s revenue fell 43.9% from May’s.

The casino that brought in the highest individual revenue of the state’s 17 venues, though, was Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course with $74.4m, while the casino that increased its revenue the most year-on-year was Hollywood Casino Morgantown, up 28.9% to $7.1m.

IGaming made up nearly a third of New Jersey’s total gaming revenue, reaching $149.3m, and Pennsylvania followed closely behind with $135.4m in iGaming revenue for the month of June.

Pennsylvania fantasy contests also generated revenue of $848,591 in June, but this is down significantly from June 2022, which brought in $1.5m in fantasy contest revenue.
