Nevada August gaming revenue down 22% from year ago

Nevada casinos brought in $743m in August, a year-on-year decline of 22%.
The monthly win also marks a slight drop off from July, when the state earned $757m.
However, year-on-year percentage actually improved from July numbers, which were down 26%.
Las Vegas Strip casinos generated $319m in August, down 39% from last year. July’s Strip win also fell 39% year-on-year.
Washoe County took in $76m for a 12% decline.
Statewide, table, counter and card game revenue reached $218m, a 36% decline. Slot machines win of $525m marked a 22% drop.
Smaller counties and jurisdictions saw positive revenue change or single digit losses from a year ago.
Lyon County for example earned $5m in August, an 18% improvement.
September could generate better numbers with the return of the NFL and increased business from Labor Day travel.
