The online casino and sports betting platform will use geolocation to ensure security for new Canadian players.

PowerPlay has launched a new online gaming site within Ontario, Canada. PowerPlay stated that its “passion for North American and European sports” makes Canada the perfect market for the online casino.

The online casino features table games, slots and live dealer games, but focuses on core offerings of ice hockey, basketball, football, baseball and European soccer. Ontario bettors can now bet on PowerPlay either before a match or live during play.

PowerPlay’s website redirects users in Ontario to a localized, secure site with the aid of geolocation technology. The company has also released new mobile apps in both the Apple and Google Play stores.

Payment methods accepted by the site will not change with its new site location. Players will be able to use over 250 banks and financial institutions in Canada via payment gateway, Interac. Credit cards, debit cards and Paysafecard will also be accepted.

CEO of PowerPlay, Dean Serrao, said, "Our worldwide teams have been working around the clock to ensure players have the best possible site, and the fact that players can now seamlessly access the platform across multiple localized instances will further enhance that experience.

"Canada has been a core market since our launch in 2018. Joining the regulated Ontario market represents a key milestone in the company's journey.

“I am proud of the continued, solid commitment from all of our staff for getting us to this point. We will be doing all that we can to provide a fantastic and localized experience to all our players in Ontario."
