The new South Korean resort will incorporate both Light & Wonder's technology and games.

Mohegan’s new South Korean venue, Insipire Entertainment Resort, has chosen Las Vegas-based Light & Wonder to provide its technology and systems solutions. A grand opening will occur late in 2023, after a full installation, including Light & Wonder’s slot and table games.

Mohegan Inspire Entertainment Resort will comprise three five-star hotel towers, with 1,275 total rooms, as well as a multi-purpose arena, a splash bay, ‘retailtainment’ shops, art exhibitions, commercial facilities and a foreigner-only casino.

Siobhan Lane, Light & Wonder’s CEO of Gaming, said, “A partnership with Mohegan Inspire offers a tremendous opportunity for Light & Wonder in the Asian market. Inspire will be an incredible all-new, state-of-the-art destination and we look forward to its historic debut.”

The resort will be located in Incheon, a short distance from Terminal 2 of Incheon International Airport, and only an hour from downtown Seoul.

Lane added, “We couldn’t be more proud to expand our existing relationship with Mohegan and continue to provide our robust portfolio to enable the highest level of efficiency for the resort, while also allowing guests to enjoy an unmatched player experience throughout the property.”

Mohegan COO Jody Madigan also commented, “Light & Wonder offers one of the most technologically advanced systems in the industry.

"Integrating Light & Wonder’s advanced solutions into the new property will be integral to the success of our operations and will allow us to obtain real-time insights to drive business. Implementing these technologies will help us deliver significant value to our players.”

Mohegan recently posted its Q2 financial results, showing an increase in both net revenue and income. The operator is also partnering with the Soloviev Group to bid for a New York City casino license, which the May/June issue of Gaming America will look at in depth.
