Mohegan, Tribal operator and partner of the Soloviev Group, has introduced the Mohegan Momentum Partnership Program for New York City. The New York State Restaurant Association (NYSRA) will join in supporting hospitality members and providing further resources through the program.
Mohegan CEO and President Ray Pineault said, “With various establishments bidding to attain a Gaming Facility license, it is imperative for New Yorkers to consider factors beyond tax revenue gain, but also the effort that organizations are willing and able to make to better the surrounding communities and businesses.”
Local businesses have been offered the chance to participate in the program, to serve not only the community but also Mohegan and Soloviev’s Freedom Plaza: a proposed casino, resort and museum destination in Midtown East. Millions of dollars in flexible, gaming-based rewards will incentivize future Freedom Plaza guests to patronize local NYC restaurants, shops and businesses.
Restaurants Il Monello, Tuscany Steakhouse and two Midtown locations of Il Tinello have already joined. They and other participating businesses will choose to either accept the cash equivalent of gaming and hospitality complex rewards, or give guests discounts and special offers. Mohegan will provide and determine reimbursements based on partnership agreements.
Melissa Fleischut, President and CEO of NYSRA, said, “This program goes beyond traditional incentives and investments. Local restaurants will have unprecedented access to a larger customer base, prosperous partnerships and brand awareness exceeding what many owners would be able to achieve independently.
"It must serve as an example for future ventures. I applaud Mohegan and the Soloviev Group for their commitment to social responsibility and championing this effort.”
Michael Hershman, Soloviev Group CEO, said, “Our mission is to address vital community needs, which are being communicated in meaningful conversations with local stakeholders. We look forward to continuing our robust community outreach.”
