The pop star will take the stage at the newly named Bakkt Theater in Las Vegas.

Singer and songwriter Kelly Clarkson will headline a series of shows called “chemistry… an intimate night with Kelly Clarkson” in Las Vegas this summer. The global pop star will take the stage July 28 for her first show at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino’s Bakkt Theater.

The venue, formerly known as Zappos Theater, was recently renamed and underwent a multi-million-dollar facelift as part of the rebrand.

Clarkson will perform twice in July and another eight dates in August as part of the concert series. All shows begin at 8PM.

The pop star first earned her claim to fame as an American Idol contestant during the show’s first season. Clarkson earned the title of the nation’s first American Idol in 2002. She quickly rose to stardom after releasing several hits including “A Moment Like This,” along with “Miss Independent,” "Since U Been Gone" and “Because of You.”

During her music career, Clarkson has sold more than 25 million albums and 40 million singles. She has won several Emmy’s for her daytime talk show “The Kelly Clarkson Show," which is currently in its fourth season.

Clarkson expressed her excitement to perform in Vegas and said she is thrilled to follow in the footsteps of other artists who have heavily influenced her.

She said: "I am so excited for these shows and couldn't think of a better place to get back on stage than Las Vegas! The crowds in Vegas are such an amazing collection of people that simply want to have a great time and that's what we're going to do!

"So many of my musical idols have had, and still have, incredible residencies on The Strip, and I'm so excited to create my own!"
