IGT, global supplier of gaming, sports betting and lotteries, has added Brian Blake to its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council as its new VP. Blake was the National Hockey League’s (NHL) first Senior Director of Diversity and Inclusion.
While with the NHL, Blake launched the league’s first experience-based inclusion learning program, which was delivered to all full-time NHL employees, including the organization’s commissioner and senior executive team.
Brian has a law degree from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in political science and philosophy from New York University.
In a LinkedIn announcement, a spokesperson for IGT commented, “IGT is committed to valuing and protecting our people, which includes fostering a diverse culture of respect and inclusion. We have no doubt that Brian will continue to build upon the solid foundation and achievements of our DEI leadership.”
IGT’s DEI Council currently includes 14 members who work to create a fair environment for various communities within the gaming industry workforce including: people of African descent, military veterans, LGBTQIA+ employees, employees with disabilities, women, young talent and people over 50.
The company’s website states, “At IGT, we know that diversity, equity and inclusion are critical to who we are and the value we create in the market. The work of our Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is supported by our leadership and employees around the globe.”
The supplier has also had a busy year signing new partnerships, with deployments of its PlaySports betting kiosks in both Mississippi and Ohio, as well as expanding Betfred’s reach through North America.
