Its $85m investment will aid Hard Rock's continued expansion into new global markets.

Playtech has entered into a strategic partnership with Hard Rock Digital (HRD), an online gaming platform, which is the ‘global vehicle’ for the interactive and sports betting arms of Tribal entities Hard Rock International and Seminole Gaming.

As part of the deal, the supplier has intriguingly invested $85m into the digital arm of the Tribal operator.

HRD will be responsible for licensing Playtech’s technology solutions and iGaming content to deliver improved customer services to patrons of Hard Rock’s brick-and-mortar casinos. In the US and Canada, HRD customers will now have access to Playtech’s iGaming content.

This includes its slots, RNG and live dealer games, with HRD also having access to additional Playtech technology solutions such as its IMS player management platform. The IMS platform supports other ancillary servers such as customer support, payment advisory and marketing services.

Playtech CEO Mor Weizer commented: “The Playtech team is thrilled to announce our strategic partnership with HRD. Hard Rock International has cemented itself as a marquee name worldwide, not just in gambling, but more widely in entertainment.

“HRD will combine the strength of this global brand with a proven management team, some of whom we at Playtech have known for many years and believe to be among the strongest in the online gambling industry.”

HRD Chairman of the Board Jim Allen commented: “This partnership will act as an accelerator to Hard Rock Digital's planned strategic initiative to expand its online gaming offerings to international markets, becoming the first operator with a global omnichannel offering under a singular, irreplaceable brand."
