George Goldhoff and Mike Sampson will step into these roles in the upcoming weeks.

Atlantic City’s Hard Rock Casino hired a new management team on Tuesday, as the chain pushes for an even greater share of the market in New Jersey. George Goldhoff was named President of the casino and Mike Sampson was appointed as General Manager.

Both men are expected to start working within the next few weeks, following approval by New Jersey gambling regulators.

Goldhoff is the President of the Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati, the market-share leader in southwestern Ohio. Before joining Hard Rock, he oversaw four properties as President and CEO of Pure Canadian Gaming.

Furthermore, Goldhoff has previously led teams at venues including The Rainbow Room and The Plaza Hotel in New York. He was also a crucial figure in the opening of Bellagio in Las Vegas in 1998.

Hard Rock International Chairman Jim Allen commented: “I’m confident George will continue to build on the incredible success we have achieved at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Atlantic City.

“In just three years of rebranding our property in Cincinnati, he was able to make that casino the leader in the market and I have every reason to believe he will lead our Atlantic City team into the next era with great success.”

Meanwhile, Sampson was part of the pre-opening team at Hard Rock Atlantic City and has worked there since its opening in 2018. Most recently, he served as interim president following the departure of the casino’s former President Anthony Faranca in November 2022.

Prior to joining Hard Rock, Sampson worked with gambling companies including Tropicana, Seneca Gaming and Trump Entertainment Resorts.
